Swedish Match is now seeking to strengthen Group Finance organization at the head office by employing a Group Controller.
The Group Controller will be part of the Corporate Control team within Group Finance. Corporate Control is responsible for the consolidation of the Group’s monthly financial reporting, establishing and maintaining the financial reporting procedures and structure for the company, including the preparation of the financial components of the Group’s Interim and Annual reports. The responsibility of compliance with accounting frameworks both from an International and Swedish perspective rests within the team.
About the position

The Group Controller will play a key role to ensure quality of consolidated financial statements as well as ensuring compliance with applicable accounting rules and principles for the Group’s financial reporting. The Group Controller will contribute and develop solid expertise in significant business transactions from an accounting and financial reporting perspective. These experiences combined provide an excellent platform for personal development in accounting and financial reporting matters as well as a career within finance and other managerial positions. The team is working with the consolidation system Hyperion Financial Management (HFM). The position is located at the Group’s head office in Stockholm City.
You will be part of a high-performing team and you will have a wide variety of work tasks. Your key responsibilities are:
- Consolidation and quality assurance of Group Financial reporting, including the preparation of internal and external financial reports
- Provide management with reports and in-depth financial analysis on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
- Drive and perform quality assurance of significant Group accounting processes such as valuation of assets and liabilities (IAS 19 Pension, IAS 36 Impairment testing, IFRS 3 Acquisition Analysis etc)
- Analyze trends in accounting principles and keep up-to-date with applicable IFRS and accounting news, and other applicable accounting principles (ÅRL, RFR, etc)
- Develop and implement Group accounting principles within subsidiaries
- Act as an expert adviser in accounting matters to management and local Finance Managers
You have a university degree in Business Administration, with concentration in Accounting or Finance. We believe that you have a minimum work experience of 8-10 years relevant experience from accounting and financial reporting, including experiences in group accounting, consolidation and financial reporting systems. Alternatively you have a background from public accounting with at least 8 years of experience of audit of large groups. You also need a strong knowledge in accounting and IFRS standards. You are fluent in English and Swedish and have a high degree of literacy in Microsoft Office products especially Excel.
You are a high performing individual with a strong interest in business/financial analysis and accounting. You have a great sense of accuracy and good analytical skills with the ability to structure and communicate complex information and data. You have the ability to see the big picture but also understand the importance of details. You are self-motivated and responsibility conscious and have the ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as individually.
