The priority of this role is to have the capability to act as a business partner for the CFO and capable of building powerful relationships with functional heads within the business to support the S&F team co-pilot role. Royal Canin centralized its Nordic head office to Copenhagen and the work to build a harmonized structure Is currently ongoing. Due to these changes, we believe our new Chief Accountant needs an interest for setting a structure within the unit, that continuously strive for increased efficiency and accuracy. An important task is therefore to review and recommend changes to existing accounting procedures. As Royal Canin is a part of Mars there are multiple carrier opportunities in the company.
The role of the custodian for the company is of great importance. You will be leading a team of seven associates of different seniority. Your hands-on experience in accounting and auditing is very important when leading this team and developing new efficient processes. A part in this role will also be to develop and coach the accounting team. This includes organization design, implementing functional competency development programs to build financial and business acumen, and contribute to a strong Finance talent pipeline.
Assess and ensure that the appropriate controls allowing the reliability of the financial statements are implemented and efficient. Monitor the resolution of the remediation of the control deficiencies resulting from statutory audits and internal audit.
Another important role is to track performance of the business against its plans in an efficient and lean manner. The exposure towards cross-functional elements in this job within the company and towards the Headquarter requires a highly flexible, trustworthy, business oriented approach. The role includes working with local legal matters: tax, book keeping, compliance and other subjects. Integrity and trust is paramount for this job.
The position is based at the office in Ørestad, Copenhagen.
Areas of responsibilities
- Partner the CFO of Royal Canin Nordics in the development and delivery of the business strategy & financial shape.
- Ensure the custodianship of the businesses & delivery of the NSV, Earnings, Tax, NWC and Cash targets through 13 periodical closings per year.
- Responsible for managing and reporting Internal Control Excellence, Statutory audit and Internal Audit.
- Manage and develop the Nordics Accounting team.
- Handle full spectrum of financial and cost accounting role AR, AP, GL, forecasting, budgeting, etc. Responsible for day-to-day finance and cash statement.
- Higher degree in Finance and Business Administration
- Minimum 8 years’ hands-on experience in Finance and Accounting
- Preferably a minimum of 3 years’ people management experience
- IT literate; good MS Office skills
- Fluency in English and preferably a Nordic language
We see it as an advantage if you also got:
- Experience from FMCG or pharmaceutical environment
- Navision knowledge
- Relevant experience in audit and cost accounting
- Experience from similar positions in Nordic countries
